What Is An Essential Oil?

Imagine you're taking a walk through a garden. You stop to smell a rose.
That amazing smell?
That's kind of what an essential oil is - it's like capturing the very essence of that plant's fragrance in a bottle.
Essential oils are super-concentrated plant extracts with a wide range of uses and even some benefits!

How is Essential Oil Made?
Steaming: Imagine you're making tea, but instead of tea leaves, you're using plant parts like flowers or leaves.
Hot steam is passed through the plant material, and this causes those aromatic molecules to evaporate. Then, the steam is cooled down, turning it back into liquid, and the essential oil is separated from the water.

It's like capturing the "essentials" of the plant in a bottle! 🌹 🌺 🌷

Pressing: This method is mainly used for citrus fruits like lemons and oranges.
Think of how you squeeze an orange peel and get a burst of invigorating citrus scent.
With pressing, the peels are basically squeezed until the essential oil pops out. It's a more direct way of extracting the oil.

Many essential oils, such as lemon, tea tree, and lavender, have antibacterial and antifungal properties, making them great for DIY cleaning solutions.
Insect Repellant
Oils like Citronella, Eucalyptus, and Peppermint are known for their insect-repelling power - all while being kid/pet friendly!

We use lemon and lavender to give your home a calm and fresh atmosphere. 🍋 🧼
